The World vs. God
The world says be proud of yourself. God says, Pride goeth before destruction, And a haughty spirit before a fall. Proverbs 16:18
The world says, stand on your own two feet. God says, Some boast in chariots and some in horses, But we will boast in the name of the LORD, our God. Psalm 20:7
The world says, people are basically good. God says, no one is good but God alone. Mark 10:19
The world says, you can do anything you want. God says, I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing. John 15:5
The world says be strong, God says, My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.\” Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me. 2 Corinthians 12:9
The world says, have it your way, God says, For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways And My thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:8-9
These are just a few examples of what the world says being opposite of what God’s words tells us. Maybe, we should listen to what God says instead of what the world says. Just a thought.
