The Lord Is My Shepherd
The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. Psalm 23:1.
How many times do we forget God’s role as our shepherd. We are his sheep. He makes us to lie down in green pastures . . . Sheep don’t look at a wolf and say to themselves, hmmm, what am I going to do about this wolf. They run to the shepherd. The shepherd takes care of them. The shepherd doesn’t say to the sheep, “be independent, you can do it, take care of the wolf yourself.” No! He says come to me. His rod and his staff comfort me. He takes care of me.
We all face wolves in our lives. No one escapes trouble completely. He never says we will not have trouble. In fact, he lets us know that we will have trouble but we can find peace with him. He is our shepherd.
“These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.” John: 16:33.
